The Nutcracker at Leeds Grand Theatre & Opera House – From Wednesday 16th December

For theatre lovers at Christmas, there’s no greater show than The Nutcracker. The classic tale of Uncle Drosselmeyer’s curious box of performing toys captivates the children and adults alike but it is the wooden Nutcracker doll that enchants young Clara most. Performed to Tchaikovsky’s enduring score, played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, David Nixon’s The Nutcracker has everything you’d expect from this traditional favourite.

There’s plenty to choose from at the Leeds First Direct Arena too, whether you’ve a passion for comedy, music or magic – take your pick!

Stereophonics – 5th December

Stereophonics’ ninth studio album ‘Keep The Village Alive’ comes hot on the heels of 2013’s acclaimed, platinum-selling Graffiti On The Train. Their UK tour will showcase tracks from their latest album, including singles C’est La Vie and I Wanna Get Lost With You, alongside the classic hits from their 20 plus year back catalogue, The Bartender And The Thief, Have A Nice Day, Mr Writer, A Thousand Trees and the number one hit Dakota.

Michael McIntyre – 10th & 11th December

Household name Michael McIntyre is heading out on the road again with his new laugh-a-minute tour, Happy & Glorious. Since his big break at the Royal Variety Performance in 2006, Michael has become one of the most successful and best-loved British comedians around. His previous tour, Showtime, became the biggest selling comedy tour in the world in 2012, he played to over 640,000 people including a record-breaking ten-night residency at London’s O2 Arena, which matched Rihanna’s 2011 record.

Dynamo – 16th – 20th December

 

Born Steven Frayne in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Dynamo has since wowed crowds all over the world and has won himself a number of celebrity fans in the likes of Pharrell Williams, Samuel L. Jackson, Harry Styles, Ashton Kutcher and Richard Branson to name but a few!

His amazing illusions and clever tricks have become some of the best known around the world, this is a show not to be missed!
